Infinito Wallet was thrilled to join the talk about Cryptocurrency Wallets at The 14th BBC Meet-up in Japan. The event brought together various blockchain experts from Infinito, Blockchain Business Community (BBC), Japan Cryptocurrency Practitioners Association (JCPA), BCoin, and industry regulation researchers. This time, experts examined the different types and various functions of crypto wallets, the relationship between wallets and Exchanges, as well as the future of crypto wallets.
Given the hacking incidents on numerous global Exchanges earlier this year, the industry has started to pay more attention to security features of crypto wallets. On 26 January, the Japanese exchange Coincheck reported that “NEM cryptocurrencies equivalent to 58 billion yen was lost due to a hack”. In late June, a major Korean cryptocurrency exchange called Bithumb suffered hacking damages equivalent to 3.3 billion yen. And on 20th September, Zaif announced a leak of “virtual currencies of 6.7 billion yen in value”. Because of this, investors are increasingly opting for crypto wallets as their primary storage solution rather than keeping them on exchanges to avoid potential losses.
Our Product Marketing Leader, Ellena Ki, captured the audience’s interest with her discussion on why wallets are important to have as a safe storage solution, the importance of security in crypto wallets, and how crypto wallets, especially mobile, are evolving to satisfy with industry challenges and user needs. She then demonstrated how Infinito Wallet is designed to be the ultimate solution: a single mobile wallet that removes all risks and inconvenience when interacting with the widest range of crypto assets with its advanced asset and address verification features such as ID/KYC, AML Check/Report, and Token Veri-Sign that protect users from mistakes / scams. Infinito Wallet currently supports the widest range of cryptocurrencies on the market including ADA, EOS, Ethereum, NEO, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dash, Bitcoin Cash, ETC, Dash, Dogecoin and more than 20,000 tokens of ETH ERC20, NEO NEP-5, and EOS protocols. In addition, from November 1st to 4th, Infinito Wallet hosted a Japan-exclusive reward program that successfully gifted 500 GAS to new users.
