Infinito Team Inspires Vietnamese Young Tech Talents at JUNCTIONxHanoi

October 17, 2018

Europe’s biggest hackathon, Junction, has come to Hanoi, Vietnam and Infinito team was there to serve as judges, mentors, and one of the main track partners for this exciting development competition. The event was an organized effort between Hanoi University and the Embassy of Finland, sponsored by Infinity Blockchain Labs (IBL). Over 300 Vietnamese young talents including university students, tech startups, and technology enthusiasts gathered for a high energy 48-hour contest. With a grand prize of 100 million VND, the champion in Hanoi will represent Vietnam to compete in Junction Europe which will take place in Helsinki, Finland on November 2018.

At the beginning of the event, our Product Manager, Mr. Jackie Pham took the stage to discuss blockchain technology and how its disrupting various industries for the better. He also introduced our Infinito Ecosystem and the way it can help connect end users with innovative blockchain services. His inspirational speech ended with Infinito’s track introduction and kickstarted the hackathon contest.

Infinito’s track challenged contestants to come up with a solution for loyalty point exchanges between franchises in the form of a website or mobile app. Participants were given small samples of Infinito SDK and API, the essential tools in the development and operation of the world-leading Infinito Wallet. This is the first time Infinito has ever made these development tools officially public.

To provide support for track participants, our senior engineers Mr. Thinh Tran and Mr. Huy Hoang delivered the tech seminar sharing knowledge about Infinito SDK and smart contracts. Our challenging yet exciting track was the most popular out of all 3 tracks in the event, having gathered the biggest number of participants.

At the end of 48 hours, participants submitted their work to be evaluated by Infinito judges to select the best 3 teams. Afterwards, the teams presented their project on stage along with the top 6 teams from 2 other tracks. Final evaluation featured 12 prominent judges including Junction CEO, Co-founder of Tomochain, CEO of InfoRe Technology, Co-founder of Kyber Network, and 2 Faculty Heads from Hanoi University along with 2 representatives from each track.

Team Phoenix from Infinito’s track was chosen as the Hackathon champion as they successfully satisfied the judging criteria of technology utilization, creativity and scalability. We are extremely excited about their victory and cannot wait to see the team perform at the global scale competition in Finland this November. Here are some of the contest’s best moments.

We are proud to accompany JUNCTIONxHanoi 2018, the first time Junction comes to Vietnam. Personally, I am inspired by the hard working and passion of young developer, designer, entrepreneur participants and voluntary organizers from everywhere; and totally blown away by their accomplishment in less than 48 hours using Infinito SDK / API. Such amazing experience has strengthened our belief in our vision – building Vietnam to be the global hub for Blockchain technology., Infinito Wallet Product Manager Jackie Pham shared.

JUNCTIONxHanoi was the perfect opportunity for Infinito team to showcase our powerful own-built technical tools to the blockchain community. We are thrilled to inspire the talented Vietnamese youths to build blockchain-utilizing innovations and represent their home countries amongst global pioneers of future tech.
